September President’s Letter

Hello Hartford Whalers Booster Club Members.
I can’t believe it is September already. Hockey season starts this month.
It’s also time to renew your membership. Once again this year,
membership is only $10 per person, and is good from September to
August. See the website for our membership application. You can also
contact our membership chairperson Mark Anderson at
Once again we are planning to take a hockey trip. See our website,
Facebook & any other media pages for information. This trip will fill up
quickly, and as a club member, you will have first opportunity to buy
seats for this trip once everything is finalized.
Our meetings are at Vito’s in Wethersfield on the Silas Deane Hwy.
The 2 nd Monday of each Month. The meetings start at 7:30 P.M, but
members of the club do arrive early to have dinner. The food is very
good and the prices are very reasonable. For more info on the menu,
please visit Vito’s website at
We will also be having our annual Christmas party sometime in
December, date and location will be announced soon. We will also be
having our annual Faniversary party, which this year will be held on
Friday April 13, the anniversary of the last Whalers NHL game, also at a
date and location to be announced.
On behalf of the entire board of the Hartford Whalers Booster Club, I
thank you for your support, and look forward to the coming season.
Please don’t hesitate to contact either myself, or any of the club’s board
members if you have any questions or concerns.

A Letter From the President

Good Day fellow Booster Club members, I hope this finds everyone well and enjoying the summer. As
you are aware, these are very exciting times for our club, and we are looking forward to a very busy
summer, headlined by Whalers alumni weekend coming up at beautiful Dunkin Donuts Park in Hartford
with the Hartford Yard Goats. Among the alumni expected to attend are Marty Howe, Bob Crawford,
Wayne and Dave Babych, and the voice of Whalers hockey, Chuck Kaiton. If you haven’t purchased
tickets yet, you should do so by visiting the Yard Goats website,
More good news, recently Governor Malloy has signed into law the sale of Hartford Whalers license
plates. Beginning in 2018, you can purchase such plates for your vehicles, and proceeds towards the
sale of the plates will go to the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. The club would like to personally
thank Joe Aukstolis of Minuteman Press of Bristol, and Booster Club members Brendan Lynch and Mike
Glasson for their hard work and dedication in making these plates a reality. We will have more info on
how to obtain these plates as we get closer to the end of the year, but tell your family, friends and
neighbors, it would be a great tribute to our team if we could see Whalers plates on vehicles all over
Connecticut in 2018.
In addition to those events, we are also preparing for the 2017/18 hockey season, and with that comes
membership renewal. Once again, the cost is just $10 per person for the year, which runs from
September to August. Memberships are available by visiting our website, by contacting our
Membership Chairperson, Mark Anderson, at, or by stopping at our table at
Dunkin Donuts Park during Whalers alumni weekend. Being a booster club member gives you the first
opportunity to purchase seats for our annual NHL bus trip, please go to our Facebook page to vote for
the game you would prefer to see.
I would like to invite all members to our monthly membership meetings which are held the second
Monday of each month, beginning in September, at Vito’s Pizzeria on the Silas Deane Highway in
Wethersfield. Members of the club usually begin arriving around 6:00 to have dinner before the
meeting, and meetings start at 7:30pm. As of now, the schedule for membership meetings for 2017/18
are as follows
Monday, September 11
Monday, October 9
Monday, November 13
Monday, January 8
Monday, February 12
Monday, March 12
Monday, May 14
Monday, June 11
Monday, July 9
Monday, August 13

We will also be having our annual Christmas party sometime in December, date and location will be
announced as we get closer, and we will be having our Faniversary party, which this year will be held on
Friday April 13, the anniversary of the last Whalers NHL game, at a date and location to be announced.
On behalf of the entire board of the Hartford Whalers Booster Club, I thank you for your support, and
look forward to the coming season.
